Dr. Robert Davis
Director and Clinical Psychologist
I’m a licensed clinical psychologist, neurotherapist and director of IHS. I received my doctorate from Rutgers University and completed postdoctoral fellowships in both Behavioral Medicine and Trauma at Harvard University Medical School.
While today’s brain-based technologies offer extraordinary tools for personal change, I firmly believe that my success in helping clients achieve their goals will always depend on cultivating a respectful and attuned relationship with each individual. Technology alone will not suffice.
Away from the office, I enjoy spending time with my daughters, listening to and playing music, and being outdoors camping, whitewater kayaking and hang gliding.

Sam
Neurotherapy Technician
I’m the senior neurotherapy technician at IHS. My background studying psycholinguistics and EEG at Hampshire College led me here, motivated by the desire to use brainwaves to directly improve lives—not just gather data about them. I deeply appreciate neurotherapy’s individualized approach, addressing root causes as much as possible rather than symptoms alone, and love being part of a team open to new ideas and technologies.
Outside of work, I’m drawn to philosophy, meditation, and practices that unify mind and body, like taijiquan. I spend my free time playing and composing music, programming, camping whenever possible, and writing when inspiration strikes. I’m happiest when exploring ideas and experiences that deepen my understanding of the world and our relationship with it.

Emily
Neurotherapy Technician
I have always found abundant joy and meaning in connecting with others. I am curious, empathetic, and value the mutuality of learning that accompanies my work here. After graduating from UMass Amherst with my B.A. in Psychology and Public Health, I spent some time contemplating how to translate my love of human connection into a career. In the midst of it all, something like serendipity brought me to IHS.
Some of my favorite pastimes include cooking, collaging and needle felting, birdwatching, and enjoying the company of my quirky, sassy, calico cat, Phoebe. Visions for the future include an M.S.W., RV trips around the country, and a “fixer-upper” home with a wildflower garden!
